The venue

Ty Coch is a charming coastal property, formerly a smallholding on the pilgrims route to Bardsey Island and if privacy is high on the list this is the place for you. Set within 10 acres of rewilded coastal farmland, boasting stunning views of both the sea and Yr Eifl and with the mountains and hills of the Snowdonia National Park as a backdrop, this secluded coastal location ensures wedding photographs are nothing short of stunning. It’s just a short stroll down a green lane to the beach, where guests can kick off their shoes and roll up their trousers for a photogenic wedding party paddle.

The celebrations

There’s plenty of space for guests to enjoy canapés, a glass or two of fizz or even a game of croquet as well as cosy campfires all within the grounds and while we actively encourage dancing under the stars the close proximity of neighbouring farm livestock means that fireworks are not allowed here.  You will need to hire a marquee/tipi/yurt from an independent company at an additional, separate charge but how you choose to fill it, be it with bench tables and bunting, festoon lights and bunches of wild flowers is entirely up to you. For those needing a bit of help, we have a list of wedding suppliers who can work with you to create your own beautifully individual event.

The practicalities

Ty Coch does not hold a civil ceremony licence but there are plenty of venues to choose from in the area should you want a traditional service followed by a reception at the venue. There is enough space to park six cars in the parking area and the cottages can accommodate 10-14 guests. In addition to the standard rental charges there is a venue hire fee of £1,500 for up to 70 guests (additional WCs will need to be hired for guest numbers of 20 or more)

Ty Coch is a great location for general wildness or wellness, wild swimming, yoga, foraging, woodcarving, writing, cycling, basket weaving, bread baking and so on. We don’t organise retreats ourselves but we love to work with people who do and Ty Coch has a great mix of communal space, comfortable rooms and the great outdoors for guests to enjoy in their freetime. If you interested in hosting a retreat at Ty Coch just drop us a note on the enquiry form.
